The present Reading Rooms were opened in 1923, and had facilities for reading newspapers, playing cards and billiards.
Today it is a village facility and is used for:
- Parish Council meetings
- Art and philosophy classes
- Oddfellows Society
- The Beckermet History Group
- Carers Group
- Rainbows
- The Beckermet Village Association
- Arts Out West
- Beckermet Womens Institute
- First Responders
- NSPCC
