Cutting the ribbon The official opening of Beckermet new improved playground was on Saturday 23 November, which was a tremendous day..!!

Having fun Really, really chuffed....Councillor Norman Clarkson accepted the offer of opening up the new improved playground, he expressed the hard work the Beckermet Village Association (BVA) had achieved to install the 5 items of equipment, and added that Phase 2, the new communal shelter would arrive in the early 2014.

A word of Thanks We then returned to the Beckermet Reading Room (village hall) where there were stalls, refreshments and a display of gratitude towards all our sponsors. John Edwards (Chair of BVA) and myself gave a couple of short speeches and thanked everyone involved in this project.

Thanks from the children too Finally the children, (and Mr Alan Kiel - BVA Treasurer..!!) were given 'poppers' to pop and they too declared the BECKERMET PLAYGROUND IS NOW OPENED..!! The turnout of the villagers were quite overwhelmed, with lots of positive responses - thankfully..!! Overall an excellent day..!
